Business Briefs: Bailey joins Wellspring Search; Allstate opens new office
Wellspring Search gets new chief development and marketing officer
Jon-Mikel Bailey, the founder and former president of Wood Street, a Frederick-based marketing firm, has joined the digital marketing firm Wellspring Search as its chief development and marketing officer.

“This is hands down one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make, and I couldn’t be more excited,” Bailey said. “What Karl [Hindle] and the team are building at Wellspring Search reminds me of the early days at Wood Street. It’s a chance to be part of a successful marketing firm with a much bigger growth trajectory than anything I have undertaken before.”

Wellspring Search has offices in Frederick and in Gettysburg and Fairfield, Pennsylvania. The firm specializes in search engine optimization, content marketing, social media marketing services and web design.

“I am so excited to have Jon join us,” said Karl Hindle, chief executive officer. “We will be relying heavily on Jon’s skills and experience to take us beyond the $5 million revenue target we have set.”
Allstate opens new office in Frederick

Yanina “Wendy” Cutsail has opened a new Allstate insurance office at 1201 N. East St. in Frederick. Cutsail was born and raised in Frederick County.

The office will sell auto, property and life insurance as well as protection for boats, recreational vehicles and businesses. It will also provide an array of financial services including mutual funds and annuities and employee benefits that companies can offer to their employees.

"My staff and I pride ourselves on educating our customers about their protection needs and making sure to go the extra mile for them,” Cutsail said. "My name is on the door, but the strength of my agency comes from our awesome staff."

The agency is licensed in Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania and D.C.

Hidden Hills, a winery in Frederick, is opening a new tasting room in March. The room is designed by B&D Builders, who originally built the barn. Half the barn has been transformed into a rustic-chic space for formal winter tastings and private events, while the other half remains a horse barn with room for seven equines.

“We are so pleased to have reached this joyous point in our journey envisioning a new productive, yet socially responsible use of our land,” said owner Robin Sagoskin. “It’s a space where our neighbors and friends can feel at home and relax in a tranquil, bucolic setting.”

Hidden Hills will hold a grand opening for the tasting room on March 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., which will be free and open to the public. A ribbon-cutting will precede live entertainment by local talent, and food trucks will be on-site.

There will also be an afternoon vaulting demonstration.
